NOT PRE-DRAFT....KEEPER TRADE

Hey...this is a thought (in advance of the trade market opening)...so people can think in advance and get their offers sorted.

If you are lacking keepers for next season (#42), maybe we can do something.

I just picked my SS Ezequiel Tovar. He is passable for season 41. But in 2024 he has improved his numbers making him a good looking keeper so far...2024 splits up to now..
Versus RHP 301/316/497
Versus LHP 262/310/477
He already has 18 homers (he had 15 in all of 2023)...

So....if you need a keeper, if you have a SS that is better in 2023 but is not a keeper in 2024 (and you included some kind of pick swap), then we could get something done...

This is not a wave-the-white-flag dump trade, it's a massage trade, some present for some future...help next season at the expense of a little bit this season...

Keep this in mind if you are short keepers for next season (and perhaps the season after that too!)...

To refresh this since we are approaching the trade deadline...

Tovar is better in 2024 than he was in 2023...

Here are his 2024 splits...

RHP: 273/294/474/768 (18 homers, 33 doubles)
LHP: 259/306/456/762 (8 homers, 12 doubles)

His batting average splits in 2023 were 256/246 and his OPS were 690/708 so he is much better on both sides...

His 2023 defense at SS was VG45...

So he is a full time player...and his 26 homers is a big improvement on the 15 he had in 2023...

Are you short a keeper? Looking to keep a kind of sketchy starter? A reliever of almost any quality? A platoon batter? A DH with similar numbers to Tovar (who can field at a premium position)?

If you have a better 2023 shortstop we should talk...

If nothing happens, I'm good keeping him based on his OK batting and very good fielding in our season 41...

How about potential ace Christopher Sanchez from PHI? Slugging Shortstop Trea Turner?
Jurickson Profar and his all-star ways?

Any and all could be had from Markham if the buy-now pieces I want are offered up................
